Grandmaster Song Ki Kim
Soungtan, South Korea


Grandmaster Kim, Pin # 312 and founder and President of the World Dang Soo Do Union, began training in 1951 under Master Jeong Suk Kim, Pin # 158, while attending Seoul Technical High School. Grandmaster Kim is one of the most senior Tang Soo Do figures living today.

Master Arthur Pryor
Delray Beach, Florida

Master Pryor, 7th Dan, started training in Tang Soo Do in 1966 under Robert Sohn. He was a charter member of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do MDK Fed. and served as its Treasurer, Vice Chairman and Chairman. He is now an independent Tang Soo Do practitioner teaching in both Florida and North Carolina and has started his own school, the Shim Gung Kwan. In March of 2011 he was inducted into the IIMAA Hall of Fame as "Humanitarian of The Year."

Master Stephen Washington
Noarlunga, South Australia

Master Washington, 8th Dan and founder of the Asia-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation, began his study of the martial arts in 1966. He acknowledges his former Master Kim, Sung Hwan (deceased 1985) for generously passing on his vision, knowledge and expertise in the art of Tang Soo Do, and also gives special thanks to KJN Shin, Jae Chul and KJN Lee, Young Gu under whose guidance he trained for over 20 years.

Grandmaster Robert Kovaleski
Dickson, PA

Grandmaster Robert Kovaleski, 7th Dan, started training in the martial art of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan in 1966 at the Scranton Karate School, under Senior International Grandmaster Frank Trojanowicz, Dan #13333. He is also the founder of the International Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan Association (I.T.M.A.) and instructor to Master Cynthia Rothrock.

Master Carole Coker
Montgomery, Alabama


Master Coker, 6th Dan and student of Grandmaster John St. James, began her martial arts training in 1971. She was the first female ever allowed to join an all-male martial arts class in Montgomery, Alabama and was also the first female black belt and Karate School owner in her city.

Master Stephen Propst
Yuba City, California


Master Propst, 7th Dan, began his Tang Soo Do training in Los Angeles, California in 1971 under the guidance of Master Chuck Norris and received his 1st Dan in 1978 from Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin. Since 1985 he has been a direct student of Grandmaster Andy Ah Po, founder of the Tang Soo Do Martial Way Association.

Master Jan van der Schee
Waddinxveen, Netherlands


Master Jan vander Schee, 7th Dan, started his martial arts training in 1971 under Grandmaster Theo Salm. He is owner / instructor of Do Jang Hun Shin and the Co-founder and Chairman of the All Tangsoodo Organization. He currently trains under the direction of Grandmaster Richard Byrne.

Grandmaster Clingan's Korean Karate Academy
Marysville, California


Following his return from Osan Air base in South Korea in 1971, Grandmaster William Clingan opened the Korean Karate Academy (now Grandmaster Clingan's Korean Karate Academy) in the Yuba-Sutter area of Northern California.

Founded in 1971 by Grandmaster Robert Cheezic, the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation is one of the oldest continually operating Tang Soo Do organizations in the U.S.

Master Carlo Mattei
Rome, Italy

Master Mattei, 4th Dan, began training in 1976 and was the very first Tang Su Do practitioner to be promoted to Master in Italy. To honor this distinction he was recently presented with an award by his Instructor Chong Nye Nim Roberto Villalba at the government headquarters in Rome, Lazio Region.

Master Eric Versland
Royersford, Pennsylvania

Master Versland, 6th Dan, was a young child when he began training in Tang Soo Do in Woodbridge, New Jersey under Grandmaster Ki Yun Yi. He is the owner and Chief Instructor of Legacy Karate Academy in Royersford, PA and is also celebrating 10 years of instruction in the Limerick, Royersford, Collegeville area.

Master Tommy Ary
Kingsland, Georgia

Master Ary began his Tang Soo Do training in 1976 under Grandmaster Song Ki Pak in Jacksonville, Florida. He was awarded his Cho Dan in 1980 and received Moo Duk Kwan Pin # 21602 from Grandmaster Hwang Kee. He opened the first Pak's Karate in St. Mary's, Georgia in 1978 and in 2006, attained the rank of 6th Dan.

Rocky Mountain Martial Arts
Aspen, Colorado

Rocky Mountain Martial Arts has been in continuous operation in Aspen since 1976. Founded and operated by Master Jeff Moonitz, 8th Dan, the school is a member of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation. Additional school locations are in Basalt and New Castle.

DeVita Karate
Greenwich, Connecticut

DeVita Karate has been serving the Greenwich, Connecticut community since it's opening in 1981 by Master Joseph DeVita. Master DeVita, 7th Dan, is a founding member of the Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan Association and a member of the Technical Advisory Committee.

Master Constantino Terrigno
Sanford, Florida

Master Terrigno, 5th Dan, began his martial arts training in 1981 and is a direct student of Grandmaster Andy Ah Po. In addition to his Tang Soo Do training, he has studied Kyokushinkai and Isshinryu. Master Terrigno is the owner/instructor of Two Dragons Tang Soo Do in Sanford, Florida and the creator/editor of this website, Tang Soo Do World.
