On Thursday, November 1st, Two
Dragons Martial Arts of Amory, Mississippi hosted a
two-hour clinic that is sure to be talked about for
months to come. The clinic was taught by Kwan Jang
Nim John St. James who is the President and Founding
Master of the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do
Federation located just outside of Atlanta,
Georgia.
In just
five short months this Mississippi studio has gone from opening its
doors to teaching 57 students in
3 weekly classes. It was particularly
exciting for the students of the recently expanded Two Dragons Dojang to
be in the company of one of the most senior Tang Soo Do Masters in the
world.
Kwan
Jang Nim St. James opened the clinic teaching Moo Do history and
protocol. Then, for nearly an hour, the students demonstrated forms and
techniques. From white belt forms all the way through black belt,
everyone was enriched with the knowledge of how each form was developed
and the history behind each one.
In the
second hour students, listened with rapt attention as Kwan Jang Nim St.
James shared his expertise of empty handed forms and flow sets, along
with the history and Shil Ki (practical application) associated with
each movement. The student’s spirit and enthusiasm was high as time flew
by, and at the conclusion, everyone was left wanting to know, “How soon
Kwan Jang Nim St. James could come back again?”
The
following day, many students and instructors from Two Dragons Martial
Arts departed for Montgomery, Alabama for the 2007 Southeast Regional
Championships. Upon their return to Amory it was clear that the
students from Mississippi had represented their Dojang well. Along with
their enthusiasm and motivation they returned home with 6 Gold Medals, 7
Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals. To learn more about the Korean
