Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do
Federation
Mexico City Clinic
On November 19, 2007,
Senior Master Antonio Rivera, the Chairman of the Technical Advisory
Committee (TAC) for the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation, was
dispatched by Kwan Jang Nim J. John St. James for the Federation's first
ever delegation trip to Mexico.
Master Rivera arrived at
the International Airport in Mexico City and was met by Professor Omar
Reyna, Cho Dan, who is the owner of the Korean Martial Arts Academy
Dojang Tecamac. From the airport, the two traveled by taxi and bus to
their final destination - the hotel Sol y Luna. Later that evening,
Master Rivera conducted a clinic in the town of Tecamac at the central
dojang. Students ranging from 5 years of age and older were in
attendance. Professor Reyna, his students, and their parents were very
excited to have Master Rivera teaching in their dojang.

The next morning, Master
Rivera and Professor Reyna traveled to the city of Teotihuacan to see
the third largest pyramid
in the world. The pyramid is called the pyramid of the Sun and next to
it is it’s sister pyramid the pyramid of the Moon. In order to get
there, one has to hike down the Calle de los Muertos – which means the
Street of the Dead. That evening, Master Rivera conducted a workshop on
Basic Bong (staff) and Ho Sin Sul techniques. Afterwards, everyone
gathered for a group picture. The invincible spirit of Tang Soo Do is
definitely alive and well in the Korean Martial Arts Academy Dojang
Tecamac.

On Wednesday morning,
Master Rivera was a special guest at an outdoor activity where students
from kindergarten to 8th grade demonstrated Tang Soo Do and other sports
activities to their parents. Afterward they competed against each other
- including the parents.
The APTSDF looks forward
to it's next trip to Mexico City. Plans are already being made to host
Kwan Jang Nim St. James and Senior Master Rivera plus others in November
2008
